April 10, 1964 — The LP The Beatles’ Second Album is released in the U.S.

The album went straight to No. 1 on the U.S. charts, knocking off Meet the Beatles. It marked the first time ever that an artist replaced itself at No. 1 on the charts.

The album includes some of the songs from the more widely known album With The Beatles.
