TODAY IN BEATLEDOM

The US release of the LP “The Beatles” aka “The White Album”

It was 40 years ago today that the US got its first taste of a Beatles’ double LP known as The White Album (spoken in my best Bob Stroud voice).  No it’s not the Fab Four’s best work, but it’s loud, it’s raucous and it’s creative.

There are some definite throwaways on the album (i.e. either “Honey Pie” song, “Ob-la-di Ob-la-da, among others) that, if taken out, could have made for one hell of a one-sided album (many associates of RKB have debated this in the past).

With that, I give you one of my favorite tunes off of The White Album, entitled “Everybody’s Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey.”  Enjoy.
