TODAY IN BEATLEDOM
August 8, 1969 The Fab Four meet with photographer Iain MacMillan at EMI Studios to discuss the photo shoot for the Abbey Road cover. After the meeting, Paul chose the best of 6 different pictures for the cover.
Paul essentially had full control of the decision process for the cover (and for much of the album). The final Abbey Road cover featured a bare-footed Paul walking from left to right with the rest of the Beatles, adding to the “Paul is Dead” conspiracy theory.
The rest, as they say, is history.
