TODAY IN BEATLEDOM

August 4, 1946 Maureen Cox, aka Maureen Starkey, is born in Liverpool.  Maureen was Ringo’s first wife and had three boys with the Beatles’ drummer - Zak, Jason and Lee.  (Note:  Zak is the former drummer for Oasis and current drummer for The Who)  Ringo and Maureen married in 1965, but divorced 10 years later.

In typical Ringo fashion, the man on the drumskies was not the first Beatle to have a relationship with Maureen.  Paul McCartney revealed in a 2007 interview that he in fact was with Maureen first.
