Sesame Street’s very own: “The Beetles”
There wasn’t much that separated the “real” Beatles from their Sesame Street counterparts. With thick Liverpoolian accents, several No. 1 hits and droves of wild and screaming fans, “The Beetles” hit the scene in the late 70s as part of the mecca that was Sesame Street.
I can still remember seeing these little Muppet bugs hit the stage in re-runs, of course, of the show and just take an episode by storm. The Beetles’ big hits included the ballad Letter B, Thinking of U, Hey Food and the rather confusing There’s a Lot of Different Ways to Get to School.
Some other great Beatle moments from Sesame Street include:
Octopus’ Garden, With a Little Yelp From My Friends, Act Naturally, I’m Looking Through You and especially While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
