July 25, 1973 — George Harrison pays 1 million pounds in taxes in relation to the Concert for Bangladesh.
The taxes were well worth it for the benefit concerts that featured George, Ringo, Ravi Shankar, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Billy Preston, Leon Russell and others.
Here’s a clip of George and Ringo performing “It Don’t Come Easy”, a song that George helped write and actually did a demo for himself, but in the end decided it was better suited for Ringo.
