TODAY IN BEATLEDOM

May 27, 1963 — The “From Me to You”/”Thank You Girl” single is released in the U.S.

The tune made very little impact in the U.S., but reached No. 1 in some of the U.K. charts. It was also one of the very last songs to be credited “McCartney/Lennon” rather than “Lennon/McCartney.”

On the B-side of the single was “Thank You Girl”.  It was originally titled “Thank You, Little Girl” and was written as a tribute to the Beatles’ many female fans.  Here’s a clip of the Beatles cartoon episode for the song.
